What is PCQI?

The FDA Food Safety Modernization Act (FSMA) is the most sweeping reform of our food safety laws in more than 70 years.  It aims to ensure the U.S. food supply is safe by shifting the focus from responding to contamination to preventing it. This course will help you prepare for compliance with FSMA Preventive Controls for Human Food, when a Preventive Controls Qualified Individual (PCQI) must perform or oversee:
  • Preparation of the Food Safety Plan
  • Validation of the Preventive Controls
  • Records Review
  • Reanalysis of the Food Safety Plan

The regulation applies to food processors who manufacture, process, pack or hold human food and must register with the FDA in the US and abroad.

This 20-hour PCQI Training can only be taught by certified Preventive Controls Lead Trainers. Successful completion of the class certifies the graduate as a Preventive Controls Qualified Individual (PCQI).
