Workplace Violence Training

The South Dakota Office of Homeland Security and the U.S. Department of Homeland Security are hosting a three hour workshop to enhance preparedness against active shooter incidents through:

  • Developing an Emergency Action Plan with guidance from expert instructors
  • Identifying strengths, weaknesses, and gaps in physical security and planning considerations
  • Learning how to prevent active shooter incidents by recognizing behavioral indicators on the pathway to violence
  • Understanding the history of significant active shooter incidents through survivor stories and expert perspectives

Date: Tuesday, July 9th

Time: 1:00-4:00 p.m., social to follow the presentation

Place: JJ's Wine, Spirits & Cigars Event Room (3000 W 57th St, Sioux Falls, SD 57108)

Leadership Transition

Wes Kelly, our Center Director, had his last day at MTS on Friday. He will be taking a new position in Kansas in the private sector and be closer to family. We wish him the best in his new chapter! Keith Deibert has been named the Interim Director for MTS. Feel free to reach out to him with any questions.

Information Security Day

Did you know Friday, August 2nd is Information Security Day? It's a great reminder to update all your passwords and make sure you are keeping your personal information secure! To celebrate, consider using a password manager, which generates and saves random passwords so you don't have to remember them.
